Spain: Sustainability: Act locally for global change

Sustainability is defined as “the ability to be maintained at a certain rate or level.” Sustainability deals with whether something will be able to continue as it currently exists into the future without any negative consequences. Simply put, can we continue this way without depleting resources?

Your donation will be helping to advance the organization's practical work to promote Sustainable Living, Organic Gardening, Eco-maintenance, and Earth Education. The use of solar energy, self-sufficiency in terms of food growth, protection of the soil from erosion, promotion of a vegetarian diet, and the use of low-impact technology are the goals of this community.

This project educates our future generation on growing our own food, protecting the soil, harvesting the sun, and furthering the mission of sustainability for the betterment of the planet.

Sustainability is all about the long-term viability of communities and the planet as a whole. The shift to renewable energy has been an example of how humans make necessary changes in the effort to be more sustainable. 

Can you help our photographer and ecostoryteller, Sherri Harvey, share the story of a community in Sorbas, Almeria, Spain that teaches the values of community involvement in growing food, protecting the soil and the land, and educating youth on these essential practices for a greener future for all?
