This is the 9th Year of The 50 Miles for Murph and Operation Red Wings Memorial Run.

On Friday, June 25th, 2021, we will be starting our overnight run at the Commack Fire station. We will run through the night for 50 miles and complete our journey at the Dennison building, just before the start of the Michael P. Murphy Memorial Run.

The main goal of the 50 Miles for Murph and ORW is to continue their legacies and honor the sacrifice they made for our country while also raising money for several charities to help benefit the veterans and their families.

50 Miles for Murph and ORW started in 2013 with just two runners but has since grown to 20 runners

Please help us reach our goal and cheer us on as we run across the island for a great cause.

Murph was born and raised on Long Island where he served as a Town of Brookhaven lifeguard at Lake Ronkonkokma. Murph graduated from Penn State University with Honors, and instead of attending Law School, joined the Navy SEALs.

He was 29 years old in June 2005, when he perished in a fierce firefight in mountainous terrain along the Afghanistan-Pakistan border in Operation Red Wings.

He was awarded the Medal of Honor for his actions.
