Dear Friends and Family,
This summer, on June 19th, I have the opportunity travel back to my favorite place in the entire world! This will be my fourth trip to Nairobi, Kenya. I went on my first trip in 2012 and had no idea the impact it would have on my life. My first trip opened my eyes to poverty and true need in ways I could never imagine. It also taught me what changes can happen and what can occur with fervent prayer and the unwavering love of God. I just knew I wanted to continue going back to be the hands and feet of Jesus and spread His word.
On my trip in 2017, I got a glimpse of what the quality of life is for people with disabilities in the Mathare Valley. That truly broke my heart. I knew then that I wanted to continue to do what I could to change that. This trip, in 2019, is important to me because it will incorporate my passion of working with people with special needs with my passion for the people and country of Kenya. This summer, along with some of my teammates, I will have the chance to work closely with children who have special needs and their parents to help them better understand their disabilities. I will also be able to work with them on different areas of learning such as education and motor skills so the parents can continue to help their child after our team has left. Along with this project, my team and I will also be partaking in other projects around the Mathare Valley to help support the Kenyan people. I feel blessed to once again have this incredible opportunity to help others and shine Jesus' light in a part of the world that can experience a lot of darkness. I know there is a lot of work ahead as we begin to prepare. I could really use your help!
First, I would be honored if you would pray for us…for preparation, for our journey, our ministry and for the spiritual battles surely ahead. Secondly, I'd like to know if you would contribute to the work we are doing by covering part of the cost of the trip.
Each team member has been entrusted with raising an equal share of the total cost to send us. The amount I must personally raise is $2995 and it is due by June 16, 2019. If you wish to partner with me in this ministry please click on the “GIVE NOW” button to donate. (There is an option to cover the cost of the credit card fee that you can opt out of if you prefer.) Or if you prefer to give a check or cash donation you can make your check payable to “Eastside Christian Church” and note my name and "Kenya-Mathare 2019" in the memo line and mail/bring it to the address below. Contributions to our project are tax-deductible. You're very important to me. Thank you for considering being a part of my team. If you have any questions I’d love the opportunity to tell you more so just call, text or email me!
I appreciate you for taking the time to read about my trip.
Thank you for your prayers!
