Hi Friends and Family, I am partnering with Visiting Nurse Service & Hospice of Suffolk 20th Annual VIRTUAL Run for the Health to support Hospice House. Caring and Responsible Americans have come together whether as career or volunteer to help our country survive and thrive during the current pandemic. This is the spirit of America I love - we come together to benefit all in appreciation of the rights, privileges and benefits of living in our great country.
I participate in honor of those Caring and Responsible Americans.
In 2011 my sister at a young 57 years old died while receiving hospice services at home. The day we were told it was time to begin hospice a nurse presented her a 3 ft by 3 ft patchwork lap blanket made by a hospice volunteer. My sister Donna responded by saying, "I can't believe someone made this for me. I wish I had volunteered for hospice instead of watching TV." She clung to that blanket until she died a short time later. The volunteer who made that blanket will never know how much a difference she or he made in my sister's last days - that she died believing this volunteer cared enough about her to make this blanket for her. I honor that volunteer as one of our Caring and Responsible Americans today. Thank you!
I sincerely appreciate your support for this fundraiser and my goal. You can donate now and by hitting “Give Now” on the upper right. If you would like to run or walk in the 5K, please register here.
Thank you for joining me in supporting Hospice House!
