2017 Tour de Force Memorial Ride

#9-11NeverForget #BacktheBlue Tour Learn More

In 2002 police officers from the Bronx, NY decided to complete a four-day endurance cycling event in memory of those killed on September 11, 2001 called the Tour de Force (TDF). This year the Tour de Force bicycle-ride will begin in Boston, MA and end in New York City at Ground Zero. Video of past Tour de Force rides can be viewed by accessing the URL address, www.tourdeforceny.com.

Tour de Force Mission

1. To honor the victims of the 9/11 terrorist attacks by keeping their memory alive through cycling events

2. To raise money and awareness nationwide for police officers killed in the line of duty

In the United States a total of 1,439 law enforcement officers died during the past 10 years, which is an average of one death every 61 hours, or 144 police officers per year. In 2015, there were 123 law enforcement officers killed and 96 on record as of October, 2016 (www.nleomf.org).

This will be my fourth year riding with the Tour de Force. I ride in loving memory of Firefighter Charlie Anaya, Jr. of Engine 4/Ladder 15 (EOW 9.11.2001), and for all first responders killed in the line of duty. My goal this year is to raise $7,500 and I need your help.
