Through the 2024 Race for Education campaign, the students of Montessori Academy of Chambersburg are fundraising for new and updated fun outdoor equipment! The children have some great ideas for outdoor play equipment and fun additions to our outdoor education areas! Can you believe it? Montessori Academy students are 98% to their Race for Education goals!!! Just $140 to go!

In my time at Montessori Academy, we have never STARTED race day with full funding of our goals! Let's set the record this year!

Tomorrow is the big day for Race for Education! The weather looks like it will be warm and partially cloudy, a perfect day for a run (and, of course, popsicles to follow!)

We have reached 88% of our fundraising goal at this time! Yippee!

We just allocated some funds to refreshing the Children's House playground's sandbox with all new sand, and I bet you that any of our younger students will tell you that this is a BIG DEAL to our little diggers! I can't wait to see our Race for Education fundraising effort support even more outdoor opportunities for our students!

I'd also like to give a HUGE shout out and THANK YOU to Maria and Sal's Pizzeria in Fayettville for donating all of the pizza for our whole school student pizza party tomorrow afternoon! We are so lucky that you and your son are a part of our Montessori family!

Wow! Our Race for Education campaign is really picking up today as we near the final stretch! We are now at 65% funding of our goals for this event! So far, we have been able to commit to completing the Rain Garden Boardwalk project that we have been saving up for! I'm so excited to see how much support we get in the coming days as we lead up to the big day this Thursday on May 16! Your child's big fans can make a sponsorship donation for their race at https://grouprev.com/MACRaceforEd24

Would you like to come cheer on your runner? Here is the schedule for May 16:

9:00 - 9:30 AM : Toddler Time. Cheer on our youngest walkers and runners to kick off the day! Our Toddler Community students will be paired up with big kid buddies during their walk/run! Family members and fans are welcome to watch and cheer, or participate, with their little runners!
10:00 AM - 11:00 AM : Upper School Race with Grades 1-8. Come cheer for our elementary and middle school students as they race against their personal best! Volunteers will help students track how many laps they complete as they run towards their goals!
11:00 AM - 12:00 PM : Children's House Race with Preschool and Kindergarten. Come cheer for our preschool and Kindergarten school students as they race! Volunteers will help students track how many laps they complete as they run towards their goals!
12:00-12:45 PM : Pizza Party Lunch for Students Only, donated by Maria and Sal's. After our event, all students will enjoy a pizza party lunch with their class! Any Children's House students who would typically dismiss at noon are invited to stay for lunch, with an adjusted pick up time of 12:45 pm.

Race for Education will be hosted in the soccer field area on the north side of campus at Montessori Academy, 875 Ragged Edge Road, Chambersburg PA 17202. We encourage families and fans to bring along chairs or blankets for seating during the event, as well as water bottles.
