Hi There, my name is Stella.

I am an independent photographer based in London

Wild voyageur, in the last few years, I have been wandering solo all around South East Asia, China, H.K., Myanmar ,Philippines, South Korea... and living in Japan and Taiwan, recording my journey on film with my old medium format camera : stellagrasso.com

I discovered a new way of travelling : no more spinning around from place to place but... stopping for a while ,joining projects here and there, volunteering ,finding opportunities and jobs on the way , being immersed in every country culture, helping and interacting with the local community to 'build' something... leaving a permanent footprint wherever I step.

I like to think of myself as a Visual Storyteller…I love telling stories through the lens.

While travelling I have been using my passion and skills to help and support NGOs, no profit and grassroots initiatives, giving voice with images to those who can't speak for themselves.

I am truly excited I have been selected by Photographers Without Borders for their mission in India.

Early this year I will travel to Johdupur , Rajastan,assisting Sambhali Trust

a non-governmental organization who’s primary objective is the empowerment of disadvantaged women and children on a local level.

They hold various workshops on self-esteem, social skills, as well as develop initiatives related to vocational learning and work education.

The organization focuses on reducing the existing gender gap in education and labour force participation, as well as helping vulnerable women and children break out of the cycle of poverty and abuse.

I will be ‘on the ground’ with my camera documenting everyday efforts to reach impactful results.The photos will be used for annual reports and proposals/reports.

I found Volunteering the key to give and grow , to help and achieve and concretely make a difference. I am willing to continue on this healthy path but to do so I need your support.

I'm donating a substantial amount of my time, money, and experience to this incredible project , but I can't do it without some financial aid. If you have the ability, please help covering travel costs,program fees and necessary project-related expenses.

Every year, our photographers and videographers donate hundreds of thousands of dollars worth of their time to document the work of grassroots initiatives that are making a real change in this world where it is most needed. By capturing, honouring and witnessing humanity at its best, we are not only inspiring many, but we are forging new narratives of what is and what is possible. 

You can help by supporting our photographers and videographers (See the side bar to the right to see fundraisers for our most recent recruits).

Each of our official photographers/videographers is assigned a GroupRev fundraising page by PWB upon acceptance. These pages are a privilege we offer that are intended to make our programs accessible to all and enable our volunteer photographers/videographers to raise their program fees and subsidize or cover these necessary project-related expenses:

• Airfare
• Visa's
• Vaccinations
• Health Insurance
• Travel Insurance

The following expenses are the sole responsibility of the photographer/videographer:

• Privately arranged travel / Equipment & Equipment Insurance / Software / Extra Baggage Fees / Donation perks / Clothing / Postage/Postcard / Prints / Etc.

Photographers Without Borders® (PWB) envisions a world where we all put ourselves in each others' shoes and work together. Our mission is to inform and inspire positive change by visually communicating the ways that grassroots initiatives are addressing problems in their communities. PWB is registered as a charity in the United States with 501(c)(3) status and is registered as a not-for-profit organization in Canada. All donations are calculated in US Dollars and are tax-deductible for Americans and Canadians with US income.

PWB is not responsible for any donations made outside of these pages.

Any overage amounts raised on GroupRev will be donated with the photographers direction, 100% to the Organization, 100% to PWB or split 50/50, between the photographer's/videographer's assigned cause and PWB, which is also a volunteer-run organization.
