Changing worlds with photography.

Donors like you have helped photographers fundraise 100% of project-related costs since 2014!  Help me by supporting my work on this assignment with PWB and SASANE to SUPPORT HUMAN TRAFFICKING VICTIMS IN NEPAL.

I am grateful for the opportunity to assist the SASANE organization in Kathmandu, Nepal. I am passionate about helping vulnerable persons. I believe that SASANE's work is critical in saving the lives of these vulnerable women and children. Their motivation as survivors to support one another and advocate for themselves and others is inspirational. It is critical for victims to have a safe, supportive place to take back their power, and SASANE provides that, along with hope for a brighter future.
With my 18 years of experience as an advocate/lawyer for child victims of abuse in Canada, I can provide the SASANE project with an educated and compassionate approach to the photography and videography required to effectively address their needs. I believe I can provide a unique glimpse into a world that most people don't see, in an effort to help SASANE increase awareness, provide education, and assist with funding.
The healing, education, and empowerment of the survivors of abuse, such as victims of human trafficking, is imperative for the future success of women and children, all across the globe, to fulfill their limitless potential to become happy, productive members of society. Without organizations like SASANE this would not be possible. With PWB's work SASANE can get the help and exposure they need in order for them to focus their much needed attention on their humanitarian work.

About Me:

I have been a photographer since I can remember being able to hold a camera. I am driven to utilize my skills as a photographer, coupled with my 18 years experience as a child advocate/lawyer, to create images that educate and inspire change. I strongly believe as a photographer/artist that we need to shake the status quo and bring social issues to the forefront by creating images that encourage viewers to question that status quo, inspire change, and eventually elicit hope for a better future for the world's children, and humankind in general. I am passionate about volunteering my photographic skills where I can, but I also love creating fine art images. In addition, I am forever travelling and documenting the beautiful things I encounter in our world.

History OF SASANE

SASANE - SAMRAKSHAK SAMUHA NEPAL

http://sasane.org.np/index.php/us/

Our Vision:

We believe that every human trafficking survivor can achieve her individual dream and potential. We envision a Nepal where each survivor is equipped with the self-esteem, skills, and knowledge necessary to become a leader in her chosen field.

Our Objective:

We seek to develop and implement programs to physically, emotionally and financially rehabilitate female victims of trafficking and exploitation.

Our Mission: We need to end the physical and sexual exploitation of women and girl’s, ensure their legal rights, and empower them to live free and dignified lives.

In 2007, a group of human trafficking survivors gathered together for the purpose of creating a unique organization to protect human trafficking survivors, run by survivors. Within one year, these women had selected seven educated board members and drafted a constitution for SASANE. In March 2008, SASANE was registered as a non-governmental organization in Nepal. Today SASANE provides programs and educational resources to empower female human trafficking survivors and girls at risk of being trafficked or re-trafficked. Human trafficking survivors have an immense potential to create social change, and, due to their experiences, play a vital role in eradicating human trafficking in Nepal.

SASANE was registered as a non-governmental organization in Nepal. The organization has since expanded to two offices and combined guesthouses for international volunteers in both Kathmandu and Pokhara, and has broadened its reach to seven mountain village areas. Today, SASANE provides four key and interrelated programs (Paralegal, SOS, School Awareness &Community Outreach), in addition to other educational resources intended to empower female human trafficking survivors and girls at risk of being trafficked or re-trafficked. In the future, SASANE hopes to further develop its mountain village programming in order to extend its reach to rural women, as well as open a third office to expand its regional influence in Biratnagar and the Morang district.

PWB:

Every year, our photographers and videographers donate hundreds of thousands of dollars worth of their time to document the work of grassroots initiatives that are making a real change in this world where it is most needed. By capturing, honouring and witnessing humanity at its best, we are not only inspiring many, but we are forging new narratives of what is and what is possible.

You can help by supporting our photographers and videographers (See the side bar to the right to see fundraisers for our most recent recruits).

Each of our official photographers/videographers is assigned a GroupRev fundraising page by PWB upon acceptance. • Airfare
  • Visa's
  • Vaccinations
  • Health Insurance
  • Travel Insurance

The following expenses are the sole responsibility of the photographer/videographer:
