Changing worlds with photography.

Hello Everyone,

I have the honor and privilege to serve as a volunteer photographer/videographer for Photographers Without Borders. I will be working with an NGO, its mission is to grow resilient communities through the focus on holistic, and interlinked projects that provide long-term sustainable grassroot solutions to the dual problems of poverty and poaching. They believe that through Tourism, Education, Conservation, Sustainable Farming and Economic Empowerment they can make a real difference in the lives of their community. 

The Project will take place in rural South Africa, five hours from Johannesburg. The volunteer remains in one main area but will visit up to 15 project sites that include schools, community hubs, social enterprise sites, and field visits. The material will be used to promote and create awareness of this NGO’s education, conservation and economic empowerment efforts in this community.

I will get the opportunity to work with the most vulnerable in this rural South African community, this NGO runs multiple programs to support its goals of fighting poaching through fighting poverty, encouraging young people to become wildlife guardians, and helping them to develop the necessary skills to enable sustainable livelihoods resulting in more resilient communities. They work at the grassroots level primarily at schools, community hubs and through field visits.

I have been into helping others for the majority of my life and it's something that I am extremely proud of. My love for service, storytelling, teaching, and photography allow me to keep helping and making a difference. There are matters going on all over the world, and we should always work as a worldly community to tell those stories and solve them. 

Please help send me to do one of the most important assignments of my career. It is only possible with your help, I cannot do it alone.

Each of our official photographers/videographers is assigned a GroupRev fundraising page by PWB upon acceptance. These pages are a privilege we offer that are intended to make our programs accessible to all and enable our volunteer photographers/videographers to raise their program fees and subsidize or cover these necessary project-related expenses:

• Airfare
• Visa's
• Vaccinations
• Health Insurance
• Travel Insurance

The following expenses are the sole responsibility of the photographer/videographer:

• Privately arranged travel / Equipment & Equipment Insurance / Software / Extra Baggage Fees / Donation perks / Clothing / Postage/Postcard / Prints / Etc.

Photographers Without Borders® (PWB) envisions a world where we all put ourselves in each others' shoes and work together. Our mission is to inform and inspire positive change by visually communicating the ways that grassroots initiatives are addressing problems in their communities. PWB is registered as a charity in the United States with 501(c)(3) status and is registered as a not-for-profit organization in Canada. All donations are calculated in US Dollars and are tax-deductible for Americans and Canadians with US income.

PWB is not responsible for any donations made outside of these pages.

Any overage amounts raised on GroupRev will be donated with the photographers direction, 100% to the Organization, 100% to PWB or split 50/50, between the photographer's/videographer's assigned cause and PWB, which is also a volunteer-run organization.
