ABOUT THE CHARITY
Para La Tierra is a not-for-profit conservation organization that protects habitats and species in Paraguay through scientific research and community outreach. They also promote a responsible approach to reserve management where tourists contribute to social, scientific and conservation projects that are designed to have a positive impact on Paraguay.

PROJECT DETAILS
The volunteer would help create a new profile of this NGO as it currently runs. This will include helping to raise awareness of conservation issues facing Paraguay, documenting the training of young scientists from all over the world in biological fieldwork techniques, as well as helping to promote Eco-Leadership among young people in under-served Paraguayan communities.

ABOUT THE PHOTOGRAPHER

Misha is an avid traveller, adventurous risk-taker, naturalistic observer, wildlife enthusiast and passionate artist. She has been active with International conservation initiatives such as Save Wild Tigers and is an Internationally recognized award-winning photographer with numerous sold out exhibitions in Canada, Europe and Asia.  Misha’s latest metal art titled “Kumbha”, was sold as a Wild Card in a Live Auction at the Savoy Hotel Gala Dinner in London. She was auctioned alongside art legends that can be found in the private collections of Rihanna, Elton John, Kelly Osbourne, Alexander McQueen and the Amy Winehouse foundation. Misha’s limited edition fine art metal print received a winning bid by Tunku (Princess) Myra at the Majestic Hotel in Malaysia and proceeds from her Search of Sublime series exhibition at the JW Marriot in Kuala Lumpur, were donated to Special Children Society of Ampang and Good Shepherd. PERSONAL HIGHLIGHTS

Some of Misha’s highlights include being face-to-face with the gentle eyes of the Silverback in Rwanda, shooting the Great Migration during an epic hailstorm in the Ngorongoro Crater and documenting the trance-like state of devotees paying penance to Lord Murugan. One of her latest expeditions took her to Myanmar, where she disappeared in the lost quarters of the archaeological zone, capturing monks preparing candlelight ceremonies in ancient and abandoned temples. This was followed by a research trip to the jungles of Borneo, where she documented the endangered Orangutans.

Every year, our photographers and videographers donate hundreds of thousands of dollars worth of their time to document the work of grassroots initiatives that are making a real change in this world where it is most needed. By capturing, honouring and witnessing humanity at its best, we are not only inspiring many, but we are forging new narratives of what is and what is possible. 

You can help by supporting our photographers and videographers (See the side bar to the right to see fundraisers for our most recent recruits).

Each of our official photographers/videographers is assigned a GroupRev fundraising page by PWB upon acceptance. These pages are a privilege we offer that are intended to make our programs accessible to all and enable our volunteer photographers/videographers to raise their program fees and subsidize or cover these necessary project-related expenses:

• Visa's
• Vaccinations
• Health Insurance
• Travel Insurance

The following expenses are the sole responsibility of the photographer/videographer:

• Privately arranged travel / Equipment & Equipment Insurance / Software / Extra Baggage Fees / Donation perks / Clothing / Postage/Postcard / Prints / Etc.

Photographers Without Borders® (PWB) envisions a world where we all put ourselves in each others' shoes and work together. Our mission is to inform and inspire positive change by visually communicating the ways that grassroots initiatives are addressing problems in their communities. PWB is registered as a charity in the United States with 501(c)(3) status and is registered as a not-for-profit organization in Canada. All donations are calculated in US Dollars and are tax-deductible for Americans and Canadians with US income.

PWB is not responsible for any donations made outside of these pages.

Any overage amounts raised on GroupRev will be donated with the photographers direction, 100% to the Organization, 100% to PWB or split 50/50, between the photographer's/videographer's assigned cause and PWB, which is also a volunteer-run organization.
