Changing worlds with storytelling

Donors like you have helped photographers fundraise project-related costs since 2014!

Help me to help make a difference in India! For my third and latest assignment for PWB, I will be assisting an NGO that works to reduce plastic and textile waste by using a circular economy approach and turning waste materials into woven furniture. The NGO aims to revive age old forms of weaving and furniture styles that originated in India almost 5000 years ago! The organization trains and employs rural artisan women; providing them with an income and independence, while helping to preserve cultural art forms.

As the PWB photographer, I will be introduced to the NGO’s team and will visit their main project sites and programs, including: artisans villages, rope making factories and units, weaving and skills training workshops. My photos will be used to showcase the NGO’s story through reports for their partners and funders, and most importantly – their communities. My images will also be shared by PWB to help support the work of the NGO and the PWB program.

The goal of my efforts will be to demonstrate the impact of the NGO through storytelling to help convey to donors, grant programs, and customers, the value of their financial support. My images aim to tell a story that highlights experiences of local communities and the NGO’s mission of promoting circular economies and Indian artisan traditions.

Every year, our Associates (photographers and videographers) donate hundreds of thousands of dollars worth of their time to document the work of our Community Partners (grassroots NGOs, charities and community initiatives) that are making real change in this world where it is most needed. By honouring and witnessing humanity at its best, we hope to inspire and forge new narratives of what is possible.

You can help by supporting our photographers and videographers (See the side bar to the right to see fundraisers for our most recent Associates).
