When I was two, I was very ill in the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit of Schneider's Children's Hospital. In order for my family to stay with me around the clock they moved in to the Ronald McDonald House of Long Island, right next door to the hospital. The House provided them with a warm and caring environment that relieved some of the stress they faced with me so seriously ill. Thankfully I made a full recovery. Since 2001, aided by our friends and family, the McDonald's Marchers of Great Neck team has walked in the House's annual walkathon and raised money to support this wonderful charity. Regardless of the type of illness, disease, or operation needed, the House fills a great need by providing a comfortable place to stay with meals and desserts, all in close proximity to the hospital. Although this year I will be studying abroad in Spain on the day of the walk, I hope to show my true appreciation for the House virtually. My family and I are so grateful to the House and we thank you for your support.
