Hi Friends and Family,
Saint Johns Program for Real Change helps homeless women and their children experience safe and stable housing, develop life skills and job skills, and successfully transition back into society with a job, housing, a plan, and the skills to carry out the plan.
Quite simply it is one of the most effective homelessness reduction programs I know of.
In September of 2017, the County of Sacramento ended its 15+ year partnership with Saint John’s to support 57 women and children. Saint John’s currently serves approximately 200 women and children and its daily wait list is now over 400 each day, skyrocketing from 250 as recently as June 2017.
According to the County Staff, Saint John’s contract was not renewed due to the fact that they “only” serve women and children.
Well, I am good with Saint John's focus on women and children and I think you probably are too.
Sue and I are donating $100 right now and I am asking you to generously do the same. If 100 of our friends do so we will be able to provide three families full support for the next month, including housing (including safe house to protect from prior abusive partners), drug and alcohol counseling, parenting education, healthy relationship training and childcare.
