Olivero is a wonderful community of about 250 families located about 15 miles from the Haitian border. We have been working alongside these community members in partnership with Food for the Hungry (www.fh.org), a Christian relief and development organization.
In 2015, we began the foundation and walls of a new Community Center, on land donated by a community member. Since leaving last March, the community members have worked diligently with sweat equity, and the Community Center is nearly complete. These hard-working folks have a vision to use this Center for community meetings, computer/internet training, shop/trades training for teens, and a place for homework, tutoring and bible study. We are planning to inaugurate the Center during our visit in March, and hopefully furnish the computers, software, furniture, and trade tools needed to get this Center up and running.
We are seeking to raise a final $30,000 to finish this project. If you are able to support us through a financial donation, we would be very grateful.
We are so appreciative of the support and prayers you have offered in the past and hope you see the value in what has been accomplished by these families, and will pray for continued development.
