10 years ago my wife and I adopted a 4 year old boy from Ethiopia. Traveling to Ethiopia to get our son in 2008 and spending the week at his orphanage was a life changing experience. When we came back to Nashville with our son, we couldn't stop thinking about all of his friends who we left behind. Out of this small stirring in our soul, Ordinary Hero was born and we began to advocate for children that needed a family. 10 years later, we have helped hundreds of children get adopted from Ethiopia. In 2010 we began to lead teams each year to Ethiopia to serve the different orphanages and bring much needed resources. Over the last 8 years we have led over 500 people to serve in Ethiopia and currently sponsor over 700 families so that their children can go to school and they have plenty of food and basic healthcare.
We simply set out to adopt one child and all of this happened. We are continually blown away by all the people that have stepped up to go on a trip or sponsor a family in Ethiopia. We see first hand the difference that Ordinary Hero is making in the lives of these families. We have never been more motivated and determined to make a difference in the lives of these amazing children.
This year I am joining Team Ordinary Hero to run in the Rock N Roll Nashville Marathon. All of the runners combined have set a goal to raise $50,000 for the mission of Ordinary Hero. I'm personally trying to raise $5000. If you would consider making a donation towards this goal it would mean the world to me. It's super easy, just click on the GIVE tab up above. It will only take one minute. With your help, I know we can hit this goal and continue the work of Ordinary Hero. Thank you for your consideration.
