May is Mental Health Awareness month! On May 21st, my family and I will be participating in the Sounds of Silence 5K in Memory and Celebration of Lisa Mary Reilly to raise money for the essential services that the Postpartum Resource Center of New York provides. It is a beautiful event that shines a MUCH needed light on perinatal and postpartum mental health.
The Postpartum Resource Center of New York is a non-profit organization that helps families like mine. Based in West Islip and serving ALL of New York State, the mission of PRCNY is to increase awareness and access to care for New York State moms, dads, and their families at risk for or experiencing a perinatal mood and anxiety disorder, including postpartum depression. PRCNY provides a number of services including a help line/texting service for families as well as a resources directory by zip code throughout the state. www.postpartumny.org

♦The Postpartum Resource Center of New York’s Training Institute, which offers workshops & training. These trainings include our Circle of Caring Pregnancy and Postpartum Depression/Anxiety Support Group and Perinatal Mood and Anxiety Disorders: Building a Safety Net for Families and our Community (including screening forperinatal depression).
