If you know me, you know my love for the water and my years as a swimmer and lifeguard. And you also know that I love helping out a good cause when I can, especially those geared towards veterans. Well I've found a way to combine the 2. This year I have signed up Swim With A Mission. I have signed up to swim a 5k to help raise money for veterans.
The first year of Swim With A Mission, I signed up to volunteer. It was such an amazing experience and awesome time all around that I made a promise to myself that I would do something more to help out. Well, this year I am taking a leap of faith and diving in, literally. It has been years since I've devoted any time to swimming let alone any training. I'm hoping for the best outcome not only in my attepmt to swim this 5k, but also in my fundraising efforts.
Please, please, please show your support to not only the veterans this event will help but also to me. I need some encouragement to swim this 5k. I can't to it alone!! Make that donation, send me some encouragement and good vibes AND feel good about yourself too!!! It's a win win all around.
The 3rd Annual Swim With A Mission is an Open Water Swim across Newfound Lake in Bristol, NH that raises money to help Veterans. Newfound Lake is the cleanest lake in the Northeast of the U.S. and a perfect spot for a swim.
We have several swim options: Sign up as a team to swim the 10K Relay or compete individually in the 1K, 5K, or 10K swim.
Since 2017 Swim With A Mission has raised $1.2 million for Veterans through many events including this swim event. SWAM chooses worth organizations that directly service and support our Veterans. Fundraising is not required to participate in the Swim but it is highly encouraged! This is a day long festival for the whole family. Swim races are in the morning. Stay for the afternoon which will include awards presentation, military demonstrations by the Navy SEALs and the NH National Guard, K-9 Demonstrations, food, and fun for the whole family.
