I hope this letter finds you and your family well. Recently, I have started my walk with Christ. I am young, still growing in my faith, and ready to take my next steps. 1 Timothy 4:12 says ”Don't let anyone look down on you because you are young, but set an example for the believers in speech, in conduct, in love, in faith and in purity”. I strive to live out this verse by setting an example in speech, conduct, in love, in faith and in purity throughout my life. Although I am young, I have always had an innate desire to serve. I feel fortunate to have grown up in a family that teaches humility, and that living for others is ultimately more rewarding than living for yourself. I invite you to support me as I continue my walk of faith and pursue experiences that can enrich me moving forward. In March of 2018 I will be joining my Church on a faith adventure to Uganda.
Like me, the country of Uganda is young too. After it gained its independence from Britain in 1962, Uganda fell under the brutal dictatorship of its military. For decades, the country suffered from harsh conflict, leading to a 20-year revolt and tension amongst the people. Still to this day, Uganda continues to suffer tremendously in areas such as child abduction, starvation, illness, and extreme poverty.
It’s easy to forget about third-world countries like Uganda when it’s on the other side of the world, and frankly doesn’t affect the way we live our day to day lives. But since Mariners proposed this faith adventure, Uganda has been heavy on my heart. I believe God has instilled in me a desire to pursue my relationship with both Him and His people in this country. Because even though we might neglect to think about Uganda on a daily basis, our Heavenly Father has them close. Donations of any size are appreciated and will make a difference. Please keep me and my team in your prayers as we prepare to embark on this journey of a lifetime.
If you would like to give by check, please make it out to Mariners Church
