Did you know that 1 in 16 children throughout Illinois will lose a parent or sibling by the age of 18? Did you also know that children and teens whose grief goes unattended, are emotionally, physically, socially and academically at risk?

Willow House is the only independent organization in the state whose sole mission and passion is to serve those grieving.

Willow House provides support services to children, teens and families who are grieving the death of a loved one. For over 20 years, Willow House has been the go-to program in the greater Chicago area, called upon to help young grieving families, school communities and others in crisis as they cope with death. All of services are provided at no charge.

The annual Walk & 5K Run to Remember is one way we unite as a community to honor the memory of loved ones who have died, while raising essential funds to keep programs going. This year, with an increased demand for our services, we hope to raise more dollars than ever before. We need your help to make this happen!

Your gift ensures we can meet the ever growing need for grief support services across Chicagoland. There are three ways you can help grieving children and families today: make a donation, create a fundraising page to share with your network, and register for our 11th annual Walk & 5K Run to on September 8, 2019.

There is an impact behind every dollar raised:

• A gift of $25 provides art supplies for one support group activity.
• A gift of $50 provides one family with a one-on-one intake session with a licensed counselor to prepare them for group activities.
• A gift of $100 provides dinner for a group.
• A gift of $500 can fund an expressive arts workshop.
• A gift of $1,000 can fund an 8-week school based support group series.

At the heart of this, and all of our fundraising efforts, it is our goal to continue providing grief support services at no cost to families in need. From the staff and families of Willow House, we thank you for your support.
